THE PRAIRIE PORTRAIT CARDS AND PRINTS (Below)
This distinctive black & white imagery was the result of over 18 years of observation and artistic experimentation. Each plant was photographed on site, at Wolf Road Prairie Nature Preserve in the village of Westchester, Illinois, a southwestern suburb of Chicago. The card sets below contain 1 each of 8 different images printed on soft, 100% recycled, off-white paper with 100% recycled, "cypress green" envelopes.  Cards measure 4.25" X 5.5" and come packaged with an fascinating interveiw with Mr. Floyd Swink (d.2000) taxonomist ermeritus, of the Morton Arboretum in Lisle. Mr. Swink lives on in this candid and rare interview from 1989 and answers our question: "Just what IS a prairie?".  Each card has a full plant description on reverse, detailng Native American or pioneer lore with species info. Each card is like a small print - suitable for framing.

SEPIA: (Below)
The "Sepia" line is an assortment of oak and prairie images printed in a rich, dark brown ink from the original drawings and photos of Lana Gits Many of these depict the "Mighty Oak" a late fall, early winter White Oak (quercus alba), drawn by Lana Gits at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois. The White Oak is the state tree of Illinois, Connecticut and Maryland. 

THE OAK NOTES
10 "Oak Notes" are packaged in a clear, resealable box set and printed on soft, textured, recycled paper (using soy based ink), with matching envelopes. The cards are blank inside. In addition, there are four interior "Acorn Notes", with a hand-deckled edges, to use as postcards, to extend your card into a letter or for slipping in a meaningful quote or phrase. On the back of each Oak Note card is a small drawing of a White oak leaf and its acorn. Info about White oaks and a real, pressed White Oak leaf is tucked into the back of each pack. Hand assembled and tied with a dark brown, linen string, and finished with tiny knots cascading down its side.This 170, 40% cotton off-white blank page journal with deckled edges measures 7" X 7 1/8", and is meant to be a keepsake. Some uses include: Family Stories: Record oral traditions, and intersting family stories to hand down to your family. Mighty Oak and Kilmer Poem 
Measuring 18" X 7.5", this unusual, horizontal piece consists of a print of the Mighty Oak and the poem by JOyce Kilmer. Printed in brown ink, on soft, recycled paper, these two' image and poem come together on paper, mounted on dark, chocolate brown posterboard. On the reverse side is mounted the bio of WWI American poet, Joyce Klimer, along with information on White Oaks and the Mighty Oak Drawing by Lana Gits. Custom fram needed, but this one is suitable for wall mounting as is...KILMER TREE/POEM (#06) $22.00

(Right):  Ten, beautiful and textured, recycled papers to write those keepsake
letters of love and forgiveness! Folded stationery papers include 2 each of the following 4 scenes and two blanks; Sawtooth Sunflower, Mighty Oak (long paper, writing should appear on left), Disappearing Bottle Gentian and a sidewalk scene at Wolf Road Prairie. THE PRAIRIE WREATH CARD: (Below)
Suitable for Year-Round giving, the Prairie Wreath is a combination of dried nataive burr oak leaves and prairie plants. See if you can recognize some!  Wreath is photo-image printed on recycled, cream, textured paper using dark brown soy based ink. Set of 10 with matching envelopes in resealable plastic box. The Prairie Wreath card is fully covered, front and back, with a natural vellum note. Three different sentiments express Love, Joy or Peace printed in dark brown ink in the wreath center. THIMBLEWEED NOTES (Below)
Each Note pad contains 100 little papers on a bound pad. (pages are not sticky on reverse). These are excellent for last minute notes or favorite quotes. Or, use one note, folded over to create a gift card. Made of recycled, textured paper with soy based ink. Original stipple drawing done on site by Lana Gits at Wolf Road Prairie Nature Preserve. "FAITH"
On Vellum over "Early Wild Rose'.  Sometimes, just a word is enough to lighten or brighten someone's day. This lovely 4.25 X 5.5" card is printed on cream, recycled textured paper with a soft, brown ink. The image is the Early wild rose, (Rosa blanda) showing a full rose and a bud about to appear. Overlaying this image is an off-white vellum covering almost the entire front and back of the card. One word, "Faith" is printed on front, in dark, chocolate brown. Sold separately, blank inside. ASSORTED SENTIMENTS
 I love walking in a beautiful Red oak/White oak woodland about 25 miles southwest of Chicago. This is a place where a wonderful variety of wild flowers still flourish. These little images of early spring have been drawn from life and reproduced from my

Reproductions of the original images are printed in black and white on a soft, recycled, warm-white, textured card stock. These 8 cards are blank inside, since your sentiment is on front, and measure a charming, 4" X 5". They are packaged in a set, with matching envelopes and reclosable seal. pretty purple ribbon decorates the package. No two cards are exactly alike.
